Women in Africa

African Women are very strong. They have had very difficult lives. Most women in Africa till this day have no rights. A majority of Women in Africa are the informal labour force. Women are to provide food, nutrition, water, health and education to their children. These women have to have consent from their husband to do certain things, for instance to open a bank account.

It is assumed that educating a women makes them to independent. A women in Africa
main goal is to provide for children, cater to husbands every need and to care for house.
Girls are increasingly getting limited education. Women are not allowed to complete their education if pregnant. Half of the girls who drop out do so because of poverty and increase of school fees.

In Concluion for the Women in Africa it will be ruff for them.
The women will not give up. They have a purpose in life and the women in Africa are finding their purpose and will not giving up until they do.

Thinking Through pg 462

1) The poem that had the most vivid image in my head was "Jade fower palace". The details were so empowering. The colors and the objects were described so well.

2) Refering to "Land of Plauge and Fever" means not pleasent, dreadful full of death. "Wings to fly with", how do you escape their is no escape. "Waters" refering to neverending and "Horned Dragons", enemies the bad ones.

3) The theme was about a palace that was destroyed.

4) This talks about embracing an infant to muffle her screaming. It's not personal so that is why it wouldn't appear in a history book.

6) Talks about statues Monuments . The Jade Flower was about the distruction and "Ozymandia was about the building of a statue.

Thinking Through Literature pg 507

1) The part of the pillow book that was most interesting to me was "The cat who lived in the palace". I liked when the dog was banished and how he came back. I would have love to see the expression on the faces of those people. The dog has strength and is such an important figure.

2)Shonagon does not believe that Okinamaro is back.

3)The author has different moods and feelings toward different things. The author seems like a very honest person with all sort of feelings.

4)I think she means that the people were not impressed. She did not expect that from them.
She probably thought their expressions or fellings toward that would have been different.

5)Yes, I agree Shonagon is her own person. She has a mind of her own.

6)No matter how far into the future mother nature will always be here.

Family

Family is everything to me.
My family will always be with me.
They will stand by me in whatever I do.
Sometimes my family does things I don't like but that tells me that they love me.
So be good to your family and cherish what they do.

Homosexuality

I am not against Homosexuality. If two people like each other let them be.
Does it have to matter if they are gay or not? Im not gay but I dont care if people are, Im not gonna be with the person. Homosexuals are human beings and should be able to marry and adopt. If they are responsible and ready to have a children. If gay people adopt to me they are brave and not scared of the fact that people will critize and judge.

Chinese Poetry

1) The poem that appealed the most to me is "Still night thoughts" even though it was the shorter one. It was easy to understand.
2) The relationship between the speaker and her husband in "The River..."is a very distant one.
3) The speakers feelings in "Still night thoughts"is that he likes watching the moonlight. Admires it. Takes him home, to that special place.
4) The effect on seeing the waterfall in "Gazing at..." is that the speaker can imagine. When he sees the waterfall he goes places in his mind.
6) The poem Mulberry...the speaker sounds joyful and pleasent. on the other hand in "The River..."the speaker sounds sad and depressed. Awaiting for something. The poems are talking about a male. The are both talking about love.
7) In today's world nature is viewed everyday in songs, the new, on the job and at school.

Writing Option #2

pg 127
My best teacher was Mrs. Fairchild in world history. I didn't like world history at the time. She made me like it and it was intresting. The thing I liked about her teaching was that she would let us draw and color it sounds childish now. One of the favorite projects I've ever done was in her class we got to make up our own country. We made our own map and thought of what types of people lived their and what type of food they ate. It was lots of Fun. We also had lots of parties something we do not do in high school. Mrs. fairchild is like Drona you can say focused on the kids.
