It is all in the news the virginia Tech shooting. It was a shock to me.
What I dont get is how after shooting two people the school was not put on a Code red:lockdown.
Code red is when nobody is allowed in or out a class until all is clear. When someone you suspect is having problem or mentally unstable get them help. People through out the school knew he was not all their.
He should have been forced to go to councling or to leave the school.

Songs that Celebrate
Praise songs for Orishas
3) The relationship between the gods and humans in the praise songs is very close relationship. Every god has a special part in the humans society.
4) The tone of the speakers is very proud. They praise their gods. Their attitude is very joyful and happy. Proud of what they have accomplished.
5) The praise song that was most appealing to me was Oshun (river goddess). This praise song is like a mothers love. I have a close relationship with my mother so it made me think about her.

Capital Punishment (Death penalty)
Death Penalty I am against it. Who ever has killed or done wrong will get what is coming to them.
In some cases they might not have the right person. Some times they wont find out till many years later.
If that person is killed by the death penalty what can they do to bring that person back? NOTHING!
At least if a person is put in prison he will suffer the consequences and know that what he has done was wrong.

A Drop of Milk
Thinking Through:
1) A question I would like to ask about the events in this myth is Doondari how did he come about? Why did Doondari keep creating something new?
2) The first part the world was created by a drop of milk. From their Doondari created stone from stone, iron was created from iron, water was created and from water finally air was created. Doondari a last created man with the five elements.
4) Blindness defeats man because a man who can not see knows that, that is his purpose. Sleep defeats blindness because when you wake up it the morning knowing you will have your eyesight as oppose to someone that is blind knows they will never have their eyesight.
5)Doondari returns as Gueno because he is the eternal one. Some one who is eternal does not die.
6) The truth about human life is that we all came from nothing centuries ago. Know a days people are proud of who they are and where they came from.
7) If man had not been to proud their would be no competition, no one to impress. Their would be no defeats and we all would be the same in every aspect.
8) You can compare these stories to the Fulani because they all created man and they all wanted better. From their worse was created with everyone and fault.
9) This myth is not very satisfying in my opinion it is not very straight forward.

Music
MUSIC, I love it.
I listen to all types of music.
Music takes you places. Music has certain tones and moods.
That is what I like about. Music is awesome can't live without it.
Music to me is freedom of speech. You can release your self and say what you feel.

Women in Africa
African Women are very strong. They have had very difficult lives. Most women in Africa till this day have no rights. A majority of Women in Africa are the informal labour force. Women are to provide food, nutrition, water, health and education to their children. These women have to have consent from their husband to do certain things, for instance to open a bank account.
It is assumed that educating a women makes them to independent. A women in Africa
main goal is to provide for children, cater to husbands every need and to care for house.
Girls are increasingly getting limited education. Women are not allowed to complete their education if pregnant. Half of the girls who drop out do so because of poverty and increase of school fees.
In Concluion for the Women in Africa it will be ruff for them.
The women will not give up. They have a purpose in life and the women in Africa are finding their purpose and will not giving up until they do.

Thinking Through Literature pg 507
1) The part of the pillow book that was most interesting to me was "The cat who lived in the palace". I liked when the dog was banished and how he came back. I would have love to see the expression on the faces of those people. The dog has strength and is such an important figure.
2)Shonagon does not believe that Okinamaro is back.
3)The author has different moods and feelings toward different things. The author seems like a very honest person with all sort of feelings.
4)I think she means that the people were not impressed. She did not expect that from them.
She probably thought their expressions or fellings toward that would have been different.
5)Yes, I agree Shonagon is her own person. She has a mind of her own.
6)No matter how far into the future mother nature will always be here.

Family
Family is everything to me.
My family will always be with me.
They will stand by me in whatever I do.
Sometimes my family does things I don't like but that tells me that they love me.
So be good to your family and cherish what they do.

Homosexuality
I am not against Homosexuality. If two people like each other let them be.
Does it have to matter if they are gay or not? Im not gay but I dont care if people are, Im not gonna be with the person. Homosexuals are human beings and should be able to marry and adopt. If they are responsible and ready to have a children. If gay people adopt to me they are brave and not scared of the fact that people will critize and judge.

Chinese Poetry
1) The poem that appealed the most to me is "Still night thoughts" even though it was the shorter one. It was easy to understand.
2) The relationship between the speaker and her husband in "The River..."is a very distant one.
3) The speakers feelings in "Still night thoughts"is that he likes watching the moonlight. Admires it. Takes him home, to that special place.
4) The effect on seeing the waterfall in "Gazing at..." is that the speaker can imagine. When he sees the waterfall he goes places in his mind.
6) The poem Mulberry...the speaker sounds joyful and pleasent. on the other hand in "The River..."the speaker sounds sad and depressed. Awaiting for something. The poems are talking about a male. The are both talking about love.
7) In today's world nature is viewed everyday in songs, the new, on the job and at school.

Writing Option #2
pg 127
My best teacher was Mrs. Fairchild in world history. I didn't like world history at the time. She made me like it and it was intresting. The thing I liked about her teaching was that she would let us draw and color it sounds childish now. One of the favorite projects I've ever done was in her class we got to make up our own country. We made our own map and thought of what types of people lived their and what type of food they ate. It was lots of Fun. We also had lots of parties something we do not do in high school. Mrs. fairchild is like Drona you can say focused on the kids.

Analysis of Women's Role
Women in Athenian society were not as important as men.
Women had no voice of opinion. Women were expected to do as they are told by the men.
"Your great glory is not to be inferior to what God has made you, and the greatest glory of a women is to be least talked about by men, whether they are praising you or criticizing you."-Pericles

6. I think the contemporary singer would be Natasha Bedingfield. In her music she talks about nature. The poems sound very mellow and that is how Natashas music sound to my ears.

Say No to Drugs!
Drugs are a big problem now a days lots of kids are giving into the pressure but, drugs are not the solution. To prevent your children from doing drugs you need to talk to them at an early age. Tell them what the consequences are if you take or try drugs. Have your children set goals for them self and not to let those things interfere with their lives.
